Working with the agency

The Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency offers unique opportunities for motivated individuals to apply their skills to focus on asbestos issues which go beyond workplace safety to encompass environmental and public health concerns.

Applying for positions within agency

Eligibility

If you are identified as the preferred candidate, your engagement will be conditional upon your meeting a number of pre-employment checks, including Australian citizenship, Health and Security Clearance/background check.

The agency is part of the Australian Public Service and successful applicants will be employed under the Public Service Act 1999 and are subject to the terms and conditions as specified under the Agency Determination 2014/01 (Determination) signed 10 November 2014 for agency.

Vacancies are open to Australian citizens only. Applications from people, who have permanent resident status, may be accepted dependant on the delegate’s decision. 

Advertising vacancies

The agency advertises each vacancy in the Australian Public Service Gazette.

How to apply

All applications must be submitted via the agency’s Online Recruitment System. Information on how to apply can be found in the Candidate User guide.

The application process requires you to complete an applicant information form online and submit a resume for the role you are interested in. You are also required to provide a statement of claims against the selection criteria and/or the responsibilities of the role.

Progress of Applications/Feedback

You will be advised the progress and outcome of your application either at the shortlisting stage and/or at the end of the selection process.

Feedback to candidates is available on request after the selection process has been finalised and is completed.
